The crossword puzzle on the next screen is designed to assess your knowledge
and understanding of the different purposes that your writing tasks might have.
Crossword puzzle instructions
You access the clues by clicking on each of the numbers in the puzzle. When
you click on a number, the relevant clue will appear above the crossword puzzle.
You type your answer in the text box next to the clue, then click 'Enter'. The
complete clues are also listed below the crossword puzzle.
Click on 'Check' to check your answers.
If you need help, you can get a hint by clicking on the 'Hint' button next
to the clue. This will add a letter to your unsolved word. It is generally the
first letter, but if that letter has already been filled in by a previous answer
in the puzzle, the hint will be the next letter in the word.
